NATIONALISM AS SUCH: VIOLENCE DURING SA'S TRANSITION
In this essay I applied the concepts developed in Do South Africans Exist? to make sense of the civil-war that broke out on the East Rand of Johannesburg in the 1990s. African Nationalism could only accommodate the identities 'black' and 'worker'. It could not come to terms with 'workers' who also identified as 'Zulu'.
